Description
This is Debbie Reynolds. You know, the girl in "Singin in the Rain"
I tried a new technique here, and nowhere in this entire deviation has smudging been utilised. Since I usually smudge the face so that skin is a smooth contrast to clothing, this was an interesting experience, but I did not think smudging would work well with such sharp shadows.
My reference was an autographed photograph, written "to Bruce, Debbie" but since I don't know anyone called Bruce, I only included the "Debbie". The background was out of focus, so it is meant to be fuzzy and blurry in my version, there was no way I could make it any clearer, as I had no idea as to what it was I was drawing. Same with her bathing costume. I did my very best to keep it true to the photograph, and didn't add any lines to separate fabric from skin.
Comments are welcome, and I hope you like it!

I like this, the technique is certainly interesting. Was it hard to resist smudging? If I tried something like this, I know every fiber of my body would be screaming "smooth it out!". I like this though. Good job! I like the hat and her face.
