Eleanor Powell

This is Eleanor Powell, a dancer/actress from the 1930s and early 1940s. Having, at long last, found a movie featuring her, I discovered that she actually was a good dancer, and was also very pretty, so, naturally, I drew her!

Firstly:
*Her eyelashes were toned down, becuase in the reference, they were truly unbelivable. They must have been false, and that doesn't translate well in pencil.
*I know I spelt her name wrong beneath the drawing itself. I didn't realise until after I had scanned
*One eye looks bigger than the other, but I think that is a trick of the perspective, or something, as I measured the reference, and they matched.
*I don't know what the back of her neckline is...I just drew roughly what was there, under the impression that it was lamme or something similar. It was definately sparkly, at any rate....

medium: 0.5 mechanical pencil with B leads, 8B solid graphite pencil; blending stumps and tissue for smoothing.
Finalising: The levels were adjusted slightly in photoshop, to compensate for the slightly washed-out scan, and the background was cleaned, becuase my half-completed Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers were showing through.
