Dr Who #2- Katy Manning as Joe Grant, from the series with Jon Pertwee as the third doctor.
Dr Who people are fun to draw! A few more are coming, but more slowly now, as I am beginning to find other people to draw again
oh, and sorry, but the top of the border has been chopped off, 'cause it wouldn't fit in my scanner. It is just about 1 cm longer, with a tiny arrow on it. It made the composition look a little better, at any rate.
And the hand is not from a photoreference, as it was half chopped off and bleached out in the reference I was using I hope it looks ok!
omg, are these all for your visual diary!?!? photorealism indeed!!!!!
looks like someone's diary is going to be in the art gallery! .....wait. youre in WA right? mmmmm. i wish our project wasnt so CRAP!
Looks good! I like the way it's framed by whatever it is she has her arm resting on. You did a great job on the hand for not having a good reference. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! I wasn't at all sure what her arm was resting on, cause it was out of focus, and it was a publicity shot, so watching the episode corresponding to her costume did not help
so, I just added a strange border and...carried it though! I'm glad it is effective!
I am very proud of the hand myself!
Thanks for the comment!
good grief no! These are *not* for my visual diary due to the following reasons:
a) My art teacher would kill me if ever I used the techniques used for these pictures (i.e. gridding and smudging and etc)
b) My art teacher would kill me if she ever caught me drawing someone whom I did not know personally for my VD
c) My art teacher *loathes* dr who, and would probably kill me if she ever caught me drawing these people at all.
all in all, rather a dangerous process, where I to try
Anyway, I am NOT a painter, so all my works are fairly mediocre (which annoys me, cause I *know* I can do better with pencils, if only the evil TEE would let me use them for studio works)
Instead, I am doing an oil painting of one of my friends with a large bunch of carnations, which isn't looking too bad, but could look so much better if I didn't have to use paint....
what's your project? (You've intrigued me now!)
Oh, and yes, I am in WA, but the chance of my ever getting into perspectives is so remote as to border on the rediculous!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
